We only ask for what we need, and we tell you what it is for. Here you can read which data we process when you use this website, what we do with it and what you can decide yourself.
Who we are
The website wit.agency belongs to WIT.agency, the company of Jan Seurinck, based in Tremelo (Belgium), VAT number BE0666.972.295. We are the data controller: we decide why and how your data is used. You can reach us at jan@wit.agency.
Which data we process, and why
When you fill in the contact form. We process your name, your email address, your company (if you fill it in) and your message. We use them to answer your question. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering a question you ask us. We keep your message for twelve months after we receive it and delete it afterwards.
When you email or call us. We use the details you give us to reply, and for as long as the conversation or the collaboration lasts.
Technical data. Our server keeps log files with, among other things, your IP address, the page you visited and the time. We use them to find errors and keep the website secure. We also keep a list of pages that were not found, without IP addresses, so that we can fix broken links.
Statistics, only with your consent. With Google Analytics we see how many people visit the website, which pages they read and how they find us. This only starts after you give consent in the cookie banner. If you say no, we do not load Google Analytics. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie settings at the bottom of the page. We keep the data in Google Analytics for a maximum of fourteen months.
Recognising companies, only with your consent. With Leadinfo we see which companies visit our website, based on the IP address of the network they browse on. This only starts after you give consent for statistics in the cookie banner. We use it to contact companies that show interest. If you say no, we do not load Leadinfo.
Marketing, only with your consent. With the Meta Pixel we measure which ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to a visit to our website. With the LinkedIn Insight Tag we measure the same for ads on LinkedIn and learn which kind of companies visit our website. This only starts after you give consent for marketing in the cookie banner. If you say no, we do not load them. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings at the bottom of the page.
Who we share data with
We do not sell data. We do work with a few parties that process data for us, and we have agreements with them about how they handle it:
Hosting. We host the website with a hosting company in the European Union. That is where the pages and the messages from the contact form are stored.
Email. A message from the contact form reaches us through an email provider.
Google. Google Ireland Limited provides Google Analytics, and only if you give consent.
Leadinfo. Leadinfo B.V. (the Netherlands) provides the company recognition, and only if you give consent.
Meta. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited provides the Meta Pixel, and only if you give consent.
LinkedIn. LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company provides the LinkedIn Insight Tag, and only if you give consent.
Otherwise we only pass on data when the law requires us to.
Outside the European Union. Google, Meta and LinkedIn may also process data in the United States. This happens on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
How long we keep data
Messages from the contact form: twelve months.
Server log files: as short as possible, and no longer than needed for security.
Data in Google Analytics: a maximum of fourteen months.
Data we need to work together or to comply with the law, such as invoices: as long as the law requires.
Data in Leadinfo: as long as we need it to get in touch, and no longer than needed.
Data from the marketing pixels: according to the retention periods of Meta and LinkedIn.
Your rights
You can ask us which data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict the processing, to object to a processing, and to receive your data in a usable format. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email us at jan@wit.agency and we will reply within a month.
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35 (Rue de la Presse 35), 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be. We would rather solve it with you first.

Which cookies we use and why is explained in our cookie statement.
