YouTube advertising

We put your story in front of people who came to do something else.

The only channel where you can buy a minute of someone's attention. Campaigns that stand out in the first five seconds, targeted at who you want to reach, and measured on what happens afterward.

What you get

Reach with a message that lasts longer than a sentence, and an honest judgment on the video you have.

5seconds before a skippable ad can be closed
4parts: audience, video, format, measurement
1judgment on your existing footage, before anything goes live
0TV spots going online unchanged

What is YouTube advertising?

YouTube advertising is paid video advertising on YouTube, reaching people who aren't looking for you but are willing to watch. WIT.agency sets up and manages those campaigns: we decide who you reach, judge whether your video survives the first five seconds, choose the format, and measure what happens after watching. YouTube runs through Google Ads, but needs different work from search campaigns.

It's also called video advertising or YouTube Ads. It differs from search engine marketing: there you answer a question, here you interrupt someone doing something else. That difference decides everything about how the first seconds need to look.

Marketing agency based in Belgium · Works locally, nationally and internationally · For businesses and for agencies

This is why they call us.

“We have a beautiful company video and nobody watches it.”

Money and time went into that footage. That it doesn't work online says nothing about the film and everything about how it's watched.

What we look at

Four parts. And five seconds.

On YouTube, everything gets decided before the viewer can skip. A video that only gets interesting after twenty seconds is, for this channel, a video nobody sees.

Audience

Who do you want to reach, and at what moment?

You can target by interest, by what people searched elsewhere, or by who already visited your site. Each delivers a different kind of viewer and a different price.

Video

Does it survive the first five seconds?

The most important question, and the only one we sometimes answer no to. What can build slowly on TV needs to do something immediately here.

Format

Skippable or not, and how long?

A spot you can skip is cheaper and more honest. One that can't buys attention you haven't earned.

Measurement

What happens after watching?

Almost nobody clicks a video ad, and that's normal. What counts is whether people search, come back, or buy afterward.

What it comes down to

From a video that exists to a video that works.

What's there now

A beautiful film was made, with a build-up, a story, and a logo at the end. Online, everyone drops off before the story starts.

That says nothing about the film. It says watching online works differently.

What's there afterwards

A version that makes clear what it's about in five seconds, and only expands after that.

Usually that's an edit of existing material, not a new shoot.

Illustrative example, not from an actual client.

The deliverable

Here's what it looks like when it's done.

Campaigns that run, plus an honest judgment on the footage you want to run them with.

  1. 01A judgment on your existing video, and what needs to change
  2. 02The audiences we target and at what moment
  3. 03The campaigns themselves: formats, budget and frequency
  4. 04Measurement that looks beyond the click
  5. 05A conversation every month about what happened and what's next

How it usually goes

A fixed way of working. No fixed package.

This is the usual sequence. Where we go deep and where we keep it short gets decided during intake.

Assessment

We ask the questions and review your material. We say what works and what doesn't, and whether editing or reshooting is needed.

Setup

Audiences, formats, budget and measurement. Before anything goes live, we explain what's there.

Management

Checking weekly. Adjusting audiences, excluding placements you don't want to be in, shifting budget.

an hour every month

Where it varies

No usable footage yet? It starts there. Mostly want awareness? We measure on reach, not clicks.

Where it never varies

We always say what we think of your video. And we never launch a campaign with footage we know won't work here.

What it costs

No rate card. One number.

One spot for one audience is a different job than a series of videos across several markets with weekly follow-up. That's why there's no fixed price tag.

What there is: once the approach is set, the number is fixed. No hourly billing, no extra costs halfway through.

What determines the scope

How many videos are involved.

One spot, or a series that differs per audience.

Whether the footage already exists.

Usable material, or first editing and sometimes reshooting.

How many markets or languages.

Each extra language needs its own version, even if the footage stays the same.

How long the campaign runs.

A peak around a date, or something running all year.

Honestly

Sometimes you need something else.

You want to show up the moment someone searches.

Look at Search engine marketing

You have no footage and first want to know what you have to say.

Look at Content marketing strategy

You want to advertise on other channels too.

Look at Digital campaigns

You're looking for a report to justify a decision that's already made.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they start.

What does YouTube advertising cost?

There's no fixed rate, since it varies how much footage exists and how broad you want to go. Price depends on the number of videos, whether the footage already exists, the number of markets, and how long the campaign runs.

Can we use our existing TV spot?

Sometimes, but rarely unchanged. A spot that builds toward a payoff loses its audience here before the payoff arrives. Usually a re-edit is enough.

How long can a video ad be?

As long as you hold attention. There are short six-second formats and longer ones lasting minutes. Length is rarely the problem, the first five seconds always are.

Nobody clicks our video ads. Is that a problem?

No, that's normal. Video rarely works through the click. What counts is whether people search your name, come back to your site, or ask something later.

Do you make videos yourselves?

No. We assess what exists, say what needs to change, and work with creators or with whoever already does that for you.

Can we choose which videos we appear alongside?

Partly. You can exclude channels and kinds of content, and we do: it's a fixed part of the weekly work.

Does YouTube work for small budgets?

For reach, yes, since video is cheap per impression. For direct leads it's usually the wrong channel, and we'd rather say that upfront.

Does this run through the same account as Google Ads?

Yes, YouTube runs through Google Ads. Same account, different work: different formats, different targeting and measurement.

The footage first. Then the reach.
