Online findability

We make sure you get found without paying for it.

In Google's search results, and in the answers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Two places, two kinds of work, one question: do you show up when someone searches for what you offer.

What you get

Getting found on the questions you're the answer to, and knowing why you aren't today.

What is online findability?

Online findability is the work of getting found without advertising for it, both in Google's search results and in the answers of AI assistants. WIT.agency works on this along two routes: SEO gets you into the list of results, AI findability gets you mentioned inside the answer itself. Both start from the same question: which searches do you want to win, and does what's found about you hold up.

It differs from search engine marketing: there you buy a spot, here you earn one. It takes longer and lasts longer. The two routes underneath, SEO and AI findability, each get their own page because it's different work.

This is why they call us.

“We don't show up anywhere and we don't know why.”

Findability is the one channel where you see nothing happening until you measure it. That's why it starts with a baseline.

What we look at

Two routes. Increasingly the same question.

Whoever wants to know something types it into Google or asks an assistant. It's the same question with two kinds of answer, and each needs different work to show up in.

SEO

Do you show up in the list of results?

Keywords, structure, copy and internal links. We do the content and strategy side: what to write about, how to organise it, and what can go.

AI findability

Do you get mentioned inside the answer itself?

Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini mention you, whether what they say is accurate, and whether your copy is written to be citable.

What they share

The same question, two kinds of answer.

Both start from which searches you want to win and what's findable about you today. We do that baseline once, for both.

Where they differ

Rankings versus citations.

SEO optimises a page to rank higher. AI findability writes sentences that hold up out of context, since that's how they get picked up.

What it comes down to

From hoping you get found to knowing why you don't.

What's there now

There's a site online, something gets added now and then, and traffic does whatever it does.

Why it rises or falls is a mystery nobody solves.

What's there afterwards

You know which questions you want to appear for, where you stand today on both routes, and what needs to happen.

With a baseline you can repeat in six months.

Illustrative example, not from an actual client.

The deliverable

Here's what it looks like when it's done.

A picture of where you stand on both routes, and an order for what needs to happen.

  1. 01The searches you want to win, and why those
  2. 02Where you stand today: in the results and in the AI answers
  3. 03What needs to change about your copy and your structure
  4. 04An order: what first, what can wait
  5. 05A baseline you can repeat later

How it usually goes

A fixed way of working. No fixed package.

This is the usual sequence. Where we go deep and where we keep it short gets decided during intake.

Intake

We ask the questions. What you sell, who searches for it, and which questions you want to win.

We look at where you stand today in the search results and what the assistants say about you. One measurement, two routes.

Where it varies

If your site is technically broken, we refer you out, since that's not our trade. If you sell something few people search for, the weight shifts to the AI route.

Where it never varies

We never promise a ranking, not in Google and not in an AI answer. We do record the baseline so you can see for yourself what moves.

What it costs

No rate card. One number.

One site in one language is a different job than several brands and markets with years of history. That's why there's no fixed price tag.

What there is: once the approach is set, the number is fixed. No hourly billing, no extra costs halfway through.

What determines the scope

How many routes you want.

Only SEO, only the AI route, or both.

How big your site is.

Twenty pages or two thousand changes everything about the audit.

How many languages or markets.

Each language needs its own findability, not a translation of the first.

Whether we also write.

Just direction, or the copy itself too.

Honestly

Sometimes you need something else.

You want to show up today, not in six months.

Look at Search engine marketing

You don't yet know what you have something to say about.

Look at Content marketing strategy

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they start.

What does online findability cost?

There's no fixed rate, because scope varies a lot by site. Price depends on how many routes you want, how big your site is, how many languages there are, and whether we also write.

What's the difference between SEO and AI findability?

SEO gets you into the list of blue links. AI findability gets you mentioned inside the answer itself, where there's no list anymore.

Do I need to start with both?

Not necessarily. After the baseline it usually turns out one of the two delivers more for you, and we start there.

How long before we notice something?

With SEO, count in months, not weeks. With the AI route, sometimes faster, since those systems refresh more often.

Is this the same as advertising on search engines?

No, it's the opposite. Advertising buys a spot and stops the moment you stop paying. Findability earns a spot and lasts longer.

Do you do the technical work too?

No. We do the content and strategy side: which questions you want to win, what your structure should look like, what needs writing. For technical work we refer you out.

Can I see for myself whether it's working?

Yes, and that's why we record a baseline. Without a starting point, any later claim is unprovable, including ours.

We already get found well. Does this still make sense?

Maybe not, and then we'll say so. Still worth checking: many companies that rank well in Google don't show up in AI answers.
